5/5 'Amazing' - Luciano....4/5 'Love It' - Nick Curly
Prepare to be moved by the tricky, warm aural delights of Alejandro Mosso’s music. ‘Altiplano’ is the new EP from this intriguing Argentinian-born and Berlin-based producer dropping soon on air london.
Having previously released records under the monikers Funzion, Ampec and E Bridge on well-respected international labels such as LoMidHigh, Sushitech and Alphahouse, Alejandro Mosso has started using his real name to reflect a more personal approach and his burning passion for making music.
‘Ulanbator’ crackles and pops with a house bounce. The energetic melody is underpinned by an undulating female vocal and bursting with cut-up strings, driven forward by a deep bassline groove and carried along by the beat of Ale’s drum.
On the flip side, ‘Altiplano’ kicks off with a rolling bassline and builds layers of staccato strings, drums, bleeps and bass. With hints of Latin influences in the rise and fall of tribal chanting and increasingly frenetic instrumentals, the track conveys Ale’s energetic yet melodic style and his musical ingenuity.
